Prior to becoming a house producer, David Jones built an extensive experience as a producer of other genres through several tracks ranging in genres, topping charts in several countries. Between 2007 and 2008 David Jones created his own label; “Starlight”, in which he took responsibilities as A&R and main producer. Since then, David has been focusing on developing his profile as an Artist. His releases strongly contributed to Starlight quickly becoming widely perceived as the rising star in house music. 2009 was a great year for David: he topped Beatport’s House Chart twice, first with “Thriller” and then with “Without me”, his own reworks of MJ and Eminem’s classic hits. Both tracks were co-produced with Aqua Diva (Barbara Tanzini), David's partner in the Diva & Jones project. David’s “Thriller” enjoyed massive DJ support and peaked Beatport’s “Year’s Best Seller 2009” in the house category for five weeks running, beating such tracks as Dennis Ferrer’s “Hey Hey”, Swedish House Mafia’s “Leave the world behind” and Armand Van Helden’s “Funk Phenomena”. This track was also selected by BBC Radio 1 for their special December MixMag cover CD. At the beginning of 2010 David joined one of Italy’s most dynamic management agencies, Luca Moretti’s Plus 39 Group. An attentive management and massive support to his tracks combined with the high quality of all his productions pushed David to the top of Beatport’s charts more than once and established him as one of the most notable breakthrough house artists. Over the last few years David has been releasing his own music and enjoying growing demand as a remixer - artists such as Armin Van Buuren, Coolio, Milton Jackson, Shara Nelson, Jazz Bit, Da Hool, and Sergio Fernandez have requested David’s touch and many of his mixes are being released through both major and independent labels such as Ultra, Time, Hed Kandi, Ministry of Sound, Spinning, Superstar, Rise, Kontor, Vidisco, and Universal. At the end of 2010 David entered MN2S’s roster and is currently being booked worldwide. Throughout 2011, David created remixes and productions for labels such as Hed Kandi (Disco Revenge - Mr Devil), Juicy Music (Dopeness), Starlight (Feelove), Azuli (If Only Alarms Didn't Ring) and Tiger Records (Fragma - Toca's Miracle) that became some of the bestsellers of the year. He hit the top tens on Beatport more than twenty times in 2011 with collaborations as a remixer and producer with artists like Robbie Rivera, Oliver Twizt, Alex Kenji, Boy George, Fragma and others. David also played many European festivals, including appearances in Eastern Europe. These travel opportunities are set to be the start of a career as a top class international Dj. His first official music video for Emotions, produced with Alex Kenji, featuring Aqua Diva was released in January 2012. In just 7 days, it reached more than 250,000 views on the Kontor/Spinnin YouTube channels and interest in it was already growing in internationally among remix artists. Positive feedback has been growing throughout the world. Requests for gigs from places as far as the States have been coming in regularly. This, combined with the effect of the new crossover tracks (“Fly Away”, “Stand Up”, “Incredible”...)has made David stand out as an artist in the international house music scene. David Jones’ name has become such a seal of quality that Armin Van Buuren’s label Armada have asked him to mix a compilation for the beginning of the year: 15 Funky House Tunes - Selected by David Jones. He also selected and mixed the compilation for Miami 2012 for Azuli; the most important compilation of the year for one of the most historical house brands This compilation reached the No.1 position in the house album chart on Beatport and the top 10 in dance albums on Itunes UK. His first single on Azuli reached No.1 in terms of sales, and just few weeks later “E Samba” went to also hit No.1. The last few years have been great for David: Beatport published the “most sold” chart on its store in which “Thriller” was the most sold house track ever, and No.2 in the overall genres chart just after Deadmau5. “Thriller” & “Ma Ma Se” entered the top 10 of the most sold house tracks during 2009 and 2010. Then David ran along side Fedde Le Grand, Alesso, Mark Knight and Manuel De La Mare in nominations as “Best Remixer Of 2012”, and finally won the Award. In March-April 2012 he released a new remix of “Last Night A Dj Saved My Life”, one the most famous tracks in house history and also released some new tracks on Spinnin’, Armada and Starlight, with some cool new videos. He also played in many famous clubs such as Wall (Miami), twice at Nikki Beach (Miami), Las Vegas (Hard Rock Hotel – Nectar Music Festival), Ruby Skye (San Francisco), Ginger 62 (Vancouver), Club Ego (Bad Oeynhausen), Ellui (Seoul), Club Index (Germany), Versuz (Belgium), Pacha (Munich) and more. In the last few months he released many tracks collaborating with Robbie Rivera, Mastiksoul and few club singles that received huge support by artists such as Robbie Rivera, Thomas Gold, Tommy Trash, Benny Benassi, W&W and many more… Last summer David performed around the world in some of the best clubs and festivals such as Summer Set Festival (U.S.A), Pacha (Germany), Ministry Of Sound (Uk) , Club Ellui (Seul) and Ruby Skye (Usa)... In September 2012 David mixed CD3 of one of the most noteworthy compilations in the world : “Kontor Top Of The Clubs Vol.56”. One of David’s most sold tracks of 2012 was released just before the end of the year. It is one of the most important Italian dance tracks on the international scene of the last decade. Besides reaching the top position on Beatport’s charts for over 3 months and the slew of support from many Djs and radio stations, it has also been licensed all over the world from some of the biggest labels, helping it to reach mainstream channels globally. We’re talking about “Rhythm Alive”. With a high level remix pack (including Robbie Rivera, Federico Scavo and Chris Kaeser), it is set to be one of the most played tracks of 2013. The acapella, written and sung by Aqua Diva, will almost certainly be used by Djs and producers from all over the world for their mash-up and bootlegs. This winter’s “torment” is a mix of ‘90s trends and culture with a very international sound. The videoclip of this track is one of the best videos of 2012. Many people consider this to be the “Thriller” of the new millennium with hordes of zombies raising to dance. All of these elements give a great boost to David Jones, who is now a stand out artist who keeps on improving himself with new ideas and productions that are always able to amaze. 2013 has just begun and there are already collaborations in the works with Djs and notable artists like: Ron Carrol, Juliet (singer from “Goodluck”, No.1 pop band in South Africa) and Robbie Rivera to name but a few. Even in the first few weeks of the year, Beatport’s house chart already features a few tracks by David Jones. He is in the Top 5 for “Rhythm Alive” and the remix for TUJAMO - “Whoomp (There It Is)”, and is in the Top 10 with his remix of “Whisty” on the Starlight label. David Jones has proven himself to be one of the most supported dj producers of the last years insomuch as his last version of “House Of God” (a real house masterpiece) is becoming one of the most played tracks in every club and festival all over the world. “House Of God” is heavily supported by the likes of Axwell (officially charted in his personal TOP 10), Alesso, Tomcraft, Fedde Le Grand, Moguai, Sebastian Ingrosso, Tiësto and many more. There are loads of videos online showing how this track is now considered a real anthem: played by everyone and licensed all over the world, it’s a perfect track for all DJs wanting to vibe up the decks in summer. Today David is being requested both by the clubs where he has played in the past and also by new ones all over the world. He’s been recently touring Brazil and USA playing in the best clubs such as P12 (Florianopolis), Anzu (Itu-Sao Paulo), Ruby Skye (San Francisco), Avalon (Hollywood) etc. This biography was provided by the artist or their representative.
